Filming the Winter Team Challenge

Orbit Disc Golf recently went to Quarry Run Disc Golf in Augusta Maine to film the first annual Maine Winter Team Challenge Championships. Even though it was in April the weather was still appropriate for a winter challenge. With temps in the high 30’s and low 40’s and off and on sleet players battled the sketchy conditions.

Quarry run is a challenging course without the weather interfering however if you play there you know you often have to deal with a steady breeze on the open holes. The wooded holes are sometimes even tougher because the wind hits the woods and swirls in all directions making it hard to judge where your shot should go or what disc to use. Myself and Lance Norton wandered around the course and followed different groups during the mornings singles round.

We got some footage from baskets and from teepads, then in the afternoon we filmed an entire round on the lead card for the doubles round leading to the winners. Thanks to all the sponsors there were plenty of CTP prizes to be had for the players including an inbounds Disc Golf players pack, hats, shirts and discs.

The big prize for the winners of the entire challenge was 5 brand new Grip Bags. Thats right, the entire winning team took home a new Grip Bag! Maine thanks all the players and all the sponsors for coming out even in blizzard conditions. Orbit Disc Golf also would like to thank Quarry Run Disc Golf Park for their support in our ventures to bring you the best disc golf media.
